HARTZ H7242 RR is a MG VII( relative maturity 7.4), glyphosate-tolerant, Roundup Ready® variety with purple flowers, tawny pubescence, and tan pod walls. In Georgia, it averages one day later in maturity than Benning. It has yellow seeds with shiny seed coats and brown hila that vary in intensity from light to dark brown. Hartz H7242 RR is adapted to both early and late planting in Georgia’s Coastal Plain and Piedmont regions. |
It is similar to the “conventional variety” Benning in agronomic performance, seed composition, and pest resistances. Hartz H7242 RR possesses resistance to soybean cyst nematode race 3, southern root-knot nematode, Javanese root-knot nematode and stem canker. It is tolerant to the Columbia lance nematode, but is susceptible to reniform and peanut root-knot nematode. |
