| AGS 758 RR is a Maturity Group VII (Relative Maturity 7.5) glyphosate-resistant strain with purple flowers, tawny pubescence, and tan pod walls. It averages two
days earlier in maturity than Benning (Relative Maturity 7.6) and four days
earlier than USG 7732nRR (Relative Maturity 7.8). It has yellow seeds with shiny seed coats and black hila. AGS 758 RR is resistant to stem canker (Diaporthe phaseolorum var.meridionalis); southern, peanut, and Javanese root-knot nematode; soybean cyst nematode race 3; and prevalent races of frogeye leaf spot. |
It is adapted to the regions of the southern United States that commonly grow Maturity Group VII soybean cultivars and to areas that are known to have or are expected to have infestations of nematode types for which AGS 758 RR possesses resistance. The seed composition of AGS 758 RR is similar to USG 7732nRR and its protein content
averages 10 g/kg higher than H7242RR. |
AGS 758 RR was developed by the Soybean
Improvement Center at the University of Georgia Agricultural Experiment Station in Athens GA. Monsanto Corporation holds the patent on the RR trait. AGS 758 RR is a protected soybean variety that can only be sold as a class of certified seed and
only by individuals licensed by the
Georgia Seed Development Commission (GSDC)
under guidelines established in conjunction with the University of Georgia Research Foundation (UGARF). |
