AGS 2485 is a new
release and companion wheat variety to AGS 2000, but with
slightly different genetics. Results from University
yield trials in Arkansas, Louisiana, Georgia, South
Carolina, and North Carolina over multiple years qualify
it for must try status for southern wheat
farmers. AGS 2485 is a medium/small seeded variety with
an excellent test weight. It is white chaffed, medium
height with good straw strength. It matures on average
one day earlier than AGS 2000 in Georgia and similar
states in the southern soft winter wheat region.

Resistant to
currently predominant races of leaf rust and powdery
mildew and to biotypes of Hessian Fly in Georgia, AGS
2485 is a high yielding variety in the medium maturity
group. Plant AGS 2485 during the recommended planting
dates for your area at a rate of 22 seeds per linear foot
of 7-inch row. AGS 2485 responds especially well to
intense management practices, produces excellent yields,
and has excellent milling qualities.
